About me:
My passion for photography awakened in me relatively late, after I turned thirty. I have always loved nature and animals and they were incredibly close to me, but they remained more as a background for the activities I undertook – I did a lot of outdoor sports. Subsequent minor and major injuries directed me towards the camera and wow... what a discovery that was!
I quickly realized that taking pictures is quite similar to sports, and the classic cycling saying "to ride, you have to ride " translates perfectly to photography, because "to take good pictures, you have to take pictures." That's why I spent every free moment going out with my camera, and the compact super zoom camera was quickly replaced by a DSLR.
Initially, like probably everyone, I focused on the classic more documentary side of nature photography, but quite quickly I became fascinated by a more "artistic" approach. I find it absolutely fascinating that by wandering in nature and exploring the surroundings, often the closest ones, you can capture everyday and inconspicuous motifs in a creative, artistic way: unreal, painterly, minimalist or abstract.
Currently, I try to mix these two styles – sometimes the scene is so beautiful that all I need to do is press the shutter button. However, I am often overcome by the desire to present the world around us in a way completely different from how our eyes see it. I want to hold the viewer a little longer, so that they understand what they are seeing. It is even better when the subject of the photo is seemingly unattractive and common, photographed on a walk just at the doorstep. It is during such local walks that the vast majority of my works are created. Traveling is wonderful, but we often do not realize how fascinating and exciting the world is right around us.
With my photos I want to show that extraordinary images can be created anywhere, if we only allow creativity to run freely and sharpen our sense of detail. I believe that in this way I can help sensitize the viewer to the nature that we have in our closest surroundings and increase their awareness of it. After all, if you love something, you also want to protect it.
